Auto Theft Prevention/2006 Malibu won't start

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2006 Malibu with less than 40,000 miles. A few days a go I went to move the car and it started fine, now it won't start at all. It sits in my driveway. The only thing that comes on when I put the key in the ignition is the little light with a key and a lock, I assume this is passlock/security lock. The first day I tried the lights on my dashboard wouldn't come on. Now they come on but my car still won't start. I tried the 10 minute thing and that doesn't work at all. Do you have any idea what this could be or how I can fix it so I can at least get to a dealer without having it towed?

ANSWER: Hey , I get this one a whole lot
(as you probably have read.)

No sorry, there is nothing you can do tonight.
You will need to tow it. They will
reset the system for a fee. But it's
more than likely to happen again.

If looking to get rid of it all together,
no problem. I Have just the thing for you.

QUESTION: It makes me so mad, why would they install such a thing if it happens so often?!?!? Anyway, I am a female not all that "car smart" who else can install this thing besides a dealer? And where else can I get it (store)?!? I need help thanks

ANSWER: Store won't have it. I can sell you one, and you
take it to a local intall tech who does remote starters.

QUESTION: Ok well I'll stop bothering you but I guess I need to know, if I am going to buy this thing what exactly is it supposed to do? Will I still be able to use my key? Because right now I already have a remote starter...so what is it going to do to my car? How long will it take to install? Will it completely solve this problem??

Answer
If your remote starter is after market now,
then you need to have it inspected as this
is probably the cause of the trouble you are
having now.

if not, the PLJX module is designed to ground
out the passlock for remote start, but if the
input wire is grounded to the body of the car
all the time, the passlock simply will never arm again.

Takes about an hour for a good tech to put it in.
