Question
I have an aftermarket alarm that's been on my 93 Mazda 929 for yrs.  I recently had XM installed and after 3 or 4 days, during a rain storm, the alarm went off.  The problem with that is the alarm was in override with a solid LED light.  I put the key in the ignition and turned it to accessories and it did not stop.  I then turned the key back off and turned it again to accessories and pushed the override again and it stopped for about a minute then went off again. After that I disconnected the battery.  4 days went by with no rain and no incident of going off. That night (no rain) it went off and as I was trying to unlock the door to get in, the car kept locking the door. I had to quickly unlock and pull it open before it relocked it. Once inside I tried overriding the system by using the button again but it did nothing this time.  All the while I can hear the mechanism locking the doors.  At wits end I thought starting the car would shut it off but that didn't work either.  The car was running but the alarm was still going off.  Ended up disconnecting the battery again.
The (Untouchable - actual name) alarm has worked fine for 9 years.  I asked the mechanic did he have any issues with the alarm during installaton of XM and he said no. Also, factory alarm was integrated with aftermarket for operability. Both have engine interupt but I was able to start it up while going off.  OEM alarm which beeps the horn was not going off.  Could XM signal be interfering with functionality due to the close proximity to wires or does aftermarkets alarms have a useful life and then malfunction?

Answer
Sounds like it's in overide/valet mode now.
No idea how it happened, but the LED on
solid tells me this is the status.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.

I don't think XM is interfering in this, no.
