Auto Theft Prevention/Suggestion for car alarm

Question
We have an 94 Tempo that sits out in the street in front on our house. It leaks oil, that's why it sits in the street instead of our driveway. And the carage is full, so can't park it there. The drivers side door won't lock, and we've had some vandalism from kids lately. And yes, we've tried getting it fixed with no luck. What kind of alarm can I get that would be inexpensive? Just something that would sound when the door it opened? Just want to scare the kids away from trying to get in the car. Would the wireless alarms you use on your doors in a house work?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.

Diane
