Question
QUESTION: My 2003 bmw 330i has a standard factory alarm system. I realize that no anti-theft device works 100 of the time, but which one(s) give the most hassle (or avoidance) to the pro thieves? I'm looking for an easy to use system that costs under $300 if possible. Maybe a remote immobilizer or a SmartKey? Any suggestions/ideas will be highly appreciated.
Thank you!

ANSWER: Well, you are adding redundency here Ruben.
The EWS II BMW imobilizer is already in the
ignition column, and depends on the proper
key in the ignition to start it.
Pretty effective on it's own.

But if you are security minded here. NP.
I can put together a simple remote controled
starter kill system for 50.00 if you want
to enhance that as well that would certainly
take a pro some extra time.

I also have a backlit keypad disable systems that
require you press in the proper code everytime
you wish to start the engine. This is 30.00 +s&h
at www.12voltplanet.com . Lots of options for
alot less then your presumed it would be I think.

I hope this helped, and if you
want me to put together something
for you, write to me at installsupport@aol.com
and let me know what you'd like.

Have a good day.

QUESTION: Thank you for such a quick response.

So is the BMW's EWS II system is more effective than those wheel/brake locks, like AutoLock Pro? What does it take to disable/bypass the EWS II?

Answer
Very difficult to get around this system
Not something that a Pro would go for since it
requires the right codes if no key is available.

Wheel locks are fine, if that's what you are
trying to protect. It's an added layer of
protection for sure.
