Auto Theft Prevention/alarm chip

Question
My girlfriend had her purse stolen last night and she had a chip that deactivates the alarm. It is located under the dash along the steering wheel column. Is there a way to by pass it, we had an extra key. The truck is a GMC, year 2000.

Answer
No sorry,
The trouble here is PASSLOCK 2. That is the factory
fuel injection cut off circuit.

Not a switch but a GM system that depends on the proper
key to start it.

There also may be an aftermarket piece sure, and no
that key is vital to start it. without, you'd need to
remove the unit completely.

Sorry, no good news here i am afraid.

Good luck.
