Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 10/8/2008

Question
I went to unlock my doors with the button and nothing happen. So i had to unlock them with the key. i tried to start the van and i heard nothing. about 20 minutes later i tried to crank it again and the only thing that change is that the red light was flashing in the dashboard and i could hear the alarm going off but it was really low and it never went off even though i turned the key back and took it out of the ignition. The battery is now disconnected but i have no idea what is going on.

Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
