Question
My sister bought this van about 6 months ago and for the first few months all seemed relatively okay.  Then about 2 months ago, it just wouldn't start.  Sounded like a fuel pump problem (none of us have ever had issue with anti-theft devices before -- total newbies), but then it just wouldn't even turn over anymore.  Had it towed, they changed the battery and called it done.  Ran for about a week and did the same thing.  Only this time we didn't try to start it unto complete death, but had her brother-in-law (mechanic) come up to look at it.  He fiddled around with about everything from fuses to pounding on the fuel tank, got it to start and took it to his shop.  There they replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and a fuse or two (honestly, way more than they probably had to).  And again, it ran for about a week and a half and then wouldn't start again.  We're now on round 2 since then of fiddling it back into starting, but obviously it's not reliable enough for her to drive around with her kiddos in the van at this point.
Which brings me here.  After much googling, I'd pretty much nailed it down to the anti-theft device going buggy and then reading through all of your answers to so many of the others -- well, you seem to be the go-to guy on this vexing issue.

So.... long story short which bypass kit exactly would be right for her particular vehicle (I've tried looking at them at a few different websites, but not knowing what I'm talking about doesn't help my confusion level when looking at them).  More than happy to paypal through you, get it, and have it installed by an alarm specialist as you've suggested in the other answers!

Thanks so much!!

Answer
Well then you know the drill. :>(

If the engine can be started and run
for about 1 minute, the PASSKEY 3 system
you have should be able to be bypassed.
NOT BEFORE though.

If yes, then go for it.

In your case, the GMBP - GM Passkey 3 & Passlock 2
Data Override Data Bus Interface: Data override of GM Passkey 3 Transponder Immobilizer & GM Passlock 2 Immobilizer via class 2 data bus. No Key Required module is your choice here.

The GMBP is a "3 in 1" bypass solution which is compatible with the 1st generation GM Passkey used on the '99 Transport, Venture & Silhouette and the more common 2nd gen. Passkey 3 as well as the Passlock II resistor code immobilizer.

This is a special one, specific to only certain
GM products and is 89.95. Available.

If interested in this, call it in at 813 850-5000
and we'll take care of it right away.
