QUESTION: I want to add a remote starter to my 2008 Honda CRV.  Can you recommend a model or brand that is most compatible?  I have had problems with after market remote starters in the past on  different vehicles.

ANSWER: There are many as you can see. But in my expertise, I can whittle
down the field to a very few that will work well on the 08 CRV.

First thing here is that you will need a bypass module to
override the transponder system in your ignition
column to allow for remote start. This module for this vehicle
runs 70.00

Sencondly, there are differing equipment types that apply here.
Do you want long range? Or, will you want to use the current
remote you have, to also control the remote starter
(then you will be limited to the range of the current
remotes too)?

And lastly, is this going to be done by a pro, or by
a shade tree installer (some more complex then others)?

all customers who purchase online. But if shopping locally, I suggest you look in your local phone book for a
certified shop to see what they have that will work for
your needs.

If you are buying here, you will get the system wiring chart for the car/truck and help installing. But we do not go to Minn. ;>)
That part of the installation, you will need to find a good tech.
