Question
In my 1997 Buick Lesabre, the "SECURITY" light comes on and the car won't start. The guy from my Roadside Assistance Co. who's had experience with repossessions & car alarm systems could not fix the problem. My question is...can I just have my garage disengage the whole security system? I am afraid that if he is able to fix it, it might happen again. What are my options?

Answer
You can try to, but you need to be able to start the engine
to do a bypass. If this does not happen, you can not
simply have a mechanic bypass the PASSLOCK.
You will need to have GM reset it.

They have the code reader writer. Call the
service department and tell them you need
to reset PASSLOCK and how much.

I hope will work out for you.
