Question
QUESTION: I want to disable my factory anti theft alarm. It goes off at random. It locks me out of my car when I stsrt my car and I am in the driver seat the door locks after about 60 seconds. When my doors locked it poped open my trunk lid.I had to cut the wire fron the alarm to the trunk release.

ANSWER: Ok, "factory alarms" do NOT set themselves after 25, 30 or,
even 60 seconds, and none have a siren that "chirps."

Each after market alarm is different. The best way
to determine what you have is to go to a site that
identifies and sells replacement remotes like
www.KEYNFOB.com , use the FCC ID # on the back of the
remote.

Once you know the manufacturer, look up the web site,
and try to download the manual for it. In the manual,
you should find the procedure to change the feature settings,
like last door arming (passive) to "active" arming when
YOU must arm it for it to work. Then locate the shock sensor
and turn it down or, off.

Also, to place it into "OVERRIDE", locate the under dash
valet button or, switch. Then put the key in, turn to
the on position, just before cranking and press in
and hold the button until you get a response from the
siren. This should be override. Leave it this way until you get
some solid info on what you have in there.

Let me know what you figure out.

QUESTION: The alarm system is a factory installed system that came with the car new.The control module is located under the passenger seat.I tried grounding out the factory disarm terminal B8 on the module and the alarm still works.

ANSWER: Right. Is there a siren? Do the paking lights flash?
If this is your car, then the after market system was installed
at the dealership. If you already grounded the factory wire
and no joy, it's likely that it's after market.

QUESTION: The car has a siren. The parking lights and headlights flash when the alarm goes off.The factory disarm in the door keyswitch worked at one time but now does not disarm the alarm.

Answer
Right,
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the left
of the leg, drilled into a plactic panel,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.
