QUESTION: I have a 2001 nissan supercharged frontier crew cab with a factory alarm. The alarm goes off randomly whenever I lock the doors. It goes off so much it even drains the battery.  How can I deactivate the alarm so I can lock my doors without having the alarm "arm"

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

Answer
The door locks are integrated into the alarm
and vise versa. When the key is in the drivers door,
turned left to disarm, then right to unlock,
that is the way the system is setup from Nissan.

You will either need to get the factory keyless
remote, add your own keyless entry, or alarm
to control it. This needs to be done or nothing
will change. There is no simple wire to ground
to disable it.
