Auto Theft Prevention/'04 Honda Civic LX won't start after a jump

Question
My 2004 Honda Civic LX required a jump start last night.  The battery is fully charged but now it won't start.  It turns over repeatedly but will not "fire".  Any ideas what is going on?  It was towed to my local mechanic last night but he seems clueless.

Answer
That's a problem then.
It appears Rich, that when the car powered down,
the immobilizer in the car lost it's programming.
That means the ignition key has a "chip" in it
that is not being recognized by the "reader"
around the ignition switch collar any longer.

You will need to have the system in the Civic
reset/reprogrammed at Honda to get the fuel rail
system to engage again, and allow for starting.

Sorry, the news is not always
so great. But that's what it sounds like here.

Good luck.
