Question
I have a 98 explorer that wont start. been through a number of mechanics all of witch could not help. its had multiple symptoms lack of fuel was the first and then flooding so starting with the pump, and then the regulator.it no longer floods and you can here the pump kick on. battery checks out good. a different shop said it might be the computer so that has also been replaced and programmed by ford still no start. she turns over and gives a good grumble when trying to start but nothing. Could it be a electrical issue? Ive also been told that it might be the PATS.I have the alarm light in dash flashing but the alarm does not sound when i attempt to start it any ideas would help Thanks Much

Answer
It is in fact the PATS shutting down the fuel rail.
Trouble is what I have requires that a
key be programmed. Currently yours, is not.

A catch 22 I know, but the pieces I use
for remote start most times, do solve these troubles.
In your case, the PATS needs to recognise the key
to program the bypass.

Ford needs to do that or your stuck :>(

see www.bypassmodules.com to get some light on the
subject.
