Auto Theft Prevention/pass key 3 - can't turn key

Question
Hello,

I had a key made at Home Depot for my 2002 Pontiac Montana.  I put the
original key in started the car and then put the new key in (not a PK3 key)
turned the key to run but the car wouldn't start and none of the dash lights
came on either.  So I took out the new key and tried the original (this one is a
PK3) and then I couldn't turn the key at all.  The steering wheel and the
ignition is completely locked.

My Pontiac dealership is saying my ignition lock cylinder needs to be replaced
, then they can reset the code.

Anyone have any experience with a similar situation?  Any advice?

Answer
Nope, sorry.
On this one, the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project. I don't know enough
on this vehicle to advise you properly.

Good luck there.
