Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 4/28/2008

First of all - Thanks!  I purchased two wiring charts from you a couple of weeks ago, and they really simplified my life, especially considering I'm just your average do-it-yourselfer.  The Sonata is running like a champ, but I am having one issue with the Neon.  It's a 2003 SXT, V6.  The remote starter I'm installing is a Galaxy 2000RS.  The vehicle starts right up, however, it shuts down after one or two seconds of run time.  If I insert the key into the ignition, it will continue to run.  Without the key inserted, it will shut down.  I'm running in the 'tachless' mode.  Do you think that could be the issue, or perhaps a security chip in the ignition key?  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks for your support, and for the accuracy of you wiring charts.

Not good & it's not your install,
you are missing 1 vital thing. A bypass kit.

Troublesome system, and not an uncommon issue
by a long shot.

Ok, unfortunately, this vehicle has the
Dodge/Chrysler "smart key" based engine disabling system,
and it's not recognizing the pellet in the rubber of
the key.

My expertise is in disabling
the "smart key" for remote start applications,
so if it's me, I would suggest the CHDL-3-PK
bypass kit to get around the issue. (69.95)

This Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper
coded pulse to open the fuel rail passlock injector
cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the "smart key" system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and adjusting module. Once the module wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow remote
starting. It can also be set up to do your door locks
as well.

It will work on this project to complete
the installation.
