Question
On this past Saturday my dad changed the battery in my car, and as he was doing that, a alarm start going off.  He told me to put the key in the ignition, turn it, and it finally stopped.  Once he finished replacing my old battery, I tried to start the car but It did not start, and my dad noticed the security light blinking.  My dad said its the alarm system.  My question is, do I really have to go to the dealership just so they can reset the alarm system, is there a cheaper way to get by?

When the power went down, it set
off a series of troubles that
could cost you a lot at GM Service
to reset.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can
do on your own right now. You will need to
tow it to GM. They will reset the system
for a fee. However, it's more than likely
to happen again. :>(
