Question
My wife purchased a 1998 ford explorer from a used car lot. She accidently left the light on one day and when she got a jump start it triggered the alarm. no siren just the head lights wouldn't stop flashing. i took it back to the dealer and he turned the key in the ignition and it reset the alarm. the next day it was running fine thr first part of the morning but when my wife got home and i tried to leave 15 min. later, the truck wouldn't make a sound. it has a slot for a security chip but the used car dealer doesn't have it.

Answer
Needs to be removed. Without that slider
key, your are screwed.

I suggest you get under the dash and extract that
device at yor earliest convenience.

Suggestion? Get the wiring chart for this vehicle
at www.wirewerx.com and use it to identify
that wire is what, and remove anthing after market
you find.

Good luck.
