Question
A few weeks ago someone broke into my daughters house and tried to steal her car.  They took a screw drive to the ignition and tore the ignition all up.  The car was stuck in park and the tow truck drive had to put skids on the wheels to move it onto the tow truck.  She had her car towed to the Saturn Dealership.  The car ignition has been replaced and she has new keys all around.  Here is the question:  The dealership can not get the car out of gear.  Do you have any suggestions??  I noticed one answer was that it could be the VAT needs to be reset - not sure if they have done that or not.

Answer
No sorry. What we do here is electronic in nature.
The issue you have is mechanical from the description.
The work done to repair the steering column was not completed
to factory spec, or the VATS would be programmed to the
keys properly. If they tried this and failed,
then my bet is they did not replace the steering
mechanism correctly.

I would pitch a bitch and have them re do
and this time finish they're "fix".

But that's just me :>).

Good luck.
