i have a 95 ford explorer xlt. power everything. this model has a anti-theft system i am guessing, there is a light on the dash that says theft when i lock the car using the keypad. i bought the truck used and it always thought the back hatch was open so i figured thats why the alarm would never go off. i have now fixed the hatch problem and when i lock the car the theft light will come on and it honks once. if i leave the window down and open the door without unlocking the car the security systems does not sound. the light will actually just stay on. is there something wrong with it. i need to get it fixed i have over 1000 dollars worth of stero equipment in it. thankyou for your help

Time for a new security system I suspect.
I would start fresh and do not depend on the
OEM system. You can bypass the "factory" system
at www.wirewerx.com but if you have
1000 bucks invested in audio, step
up the security.
