Auto Theft Prevention - 2004 chevy lockout

Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 10/23/2009

Question
It seems disconnecting the battery will lockout the ignition on a 2004 chevy silverado.  I had this problem in 2005 when squirrels chewed on some wiring while the truck was stored, and Dad removed the battery.  Can I install a bypass myself as the closest dealer or alarm tech would be 35 miles in the rural area I'm in.

Answer
Sure, can't see why not with the proper tools
and notes. The thing here is the bypass will loose
power too. You would also need a backup batter to
keep the passlock module powered for 4 days after
the battery is removed or you would need to reprogram
the bypass module again.

The whole thing from me would cost you 84.95
with backup battery cap, and instructions.

I hope this helped.
