Question
Hi I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS . When its at my town home in the garage almost every day we will notice the car locking or unlocking by itself???? some times i will come out to the garage and the lights will be flashing so i will open the door and they stop? it doesn't matter if i lock the car when i get out or leave it unlocked it always acts up but i have also noticed that it only does it when I'm at home. When i am at work i will check the car at least 4 or 5 times and its always locked. It does have a after market remote start but i just use the factory FOB to lock the car. Any ideas why my car has a mind of its own?

Answer
I can only speculate that the system you put in is
back feeding a signal to pop the door
lock circuit and unlock it. Hard to say without
looking at it in person though.

Unlikely it's getting an outside unlock signal
from another remote on the same freq, but it happens.

Tell you what, Robert in my forum may have a thread on
this for you.

If you would, restate this question in my installers
forum at www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

More eyes on this may shake
an idea loose.

They can go into a more detailed assistance
you might need on this project.

Good luck there.
