Auto Theft Prevention - magic key anti theft system

Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 10/11/2009

Question
1st - I have a 1998 Suzuki Sport Sidekick that came with the Magic Key anti theft system. You have to wave a square looking device on the side opposite of where you put the key and after it beeps you can put the key in and start the car. At one time I thought I had lost the device and would not be able to turn my car on and I was given info on how to disconnect it - I have lost the information and would like to get it again.

2nd - I am having a new starter put in my car this Tuesday and I am wondering will there be a problem because of this magic key device?

Answer
Not certain of how to get it to go into valet/override
with your alarm/starter disable,
but have a look and copy the pic included so
you can cut it out, and do a repair on the starter wire.
Might not need to replace the starter if this is
the trouble.
