Question
I have this alarm and remote starter system on a 2005 Subaru Forester. Just recently, the car refused to start. The starter just does not turn over; it is as though the car battery or starter is dead. After trying for a while, I left the car in the parking lot %26 when I came back, the car started as though nothing was wrong. It did this same thing a few other times and the same thing happens. After awhile it would start normally.

I have since checked the battery and starter but they are both fine; I am convinced that this problem is to do with the Direkt alarm and starter system.

I have changed the  battery in the remote and reset the system using the method of pressing the little button under the dash while the ignition key is on ( as mentioned in your web site); Since doing this the car seem to be working ok. But am anxious to know if it may fail again and leave me stranded and have to have the vehicle towed.

Can you tell me:

1. Could the  problem have been a weak battery in the remote

2. How can I get a wiring diagram for this  system

3. How can I re-program the second remote which has stopped working maybe due to a dead battery. I have changed this battery too but this particular remote still does not work at all.

I do hope you can answer these questions as DSE Canada website is under construction and seems to be only in French.
