Auto Theft Prevention/08 Suburban Transponder system

Question
QUESTION: I am an Independent auto dealer who purchased a used 08 Suburban involved in a shootout.  Have replaced numerous parts and now have somehow triggered the Transponder security system and vehicle in is a no start mode.  I have gone thru the steps described in the owners manual to arm the system and to disarm, but the vehicle still will not start.  1.  Do you have any suggestions?  2.  Is an "override" system such as PKUGM2X a good idea?  3.  Is there a way to tell if the keys are responding to the vehicles "signal"?

ANSWER: Ok, an installer would place it in a semi
hidden area. I'd look under the dash area
for a button or, a toggle switch. When you locate it,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the
button (little spring loaded micro button, red or
black possibly), until the alarm chirps 1 time.
This should over ride the system, and only the
keyless entry part, if installed, would still be
operating.

The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

The next step is if wanting to remove it,
you contact a local technician to
locate it, and affect neccesary service
for you.

That should solve the troubles.

Let me know what you discover.

QUESTION: I guess I was not clear in the original inquiry, but this is the OEM system that does have a keyless entry that is described as the PASSIII or Transponder security system.  Now, how do I disarm this system and start the vehicle?  Thanks.

Answer
Thats different. You are confusing the 2 terms.
One is an OEM keyless entry & the issue
you are having is that the theft deterent,
Passlock III, the fuel rail cut off circuit,
has been engaged.

See the options here:

www.GMPASSLOCK.com

None are going to be to your liking I'm afraid.
If activated, PASSLOCK III will need to be reset
at GM. If not, and the engine can run, you can bypass it.

No middle ground here unfortuantely.
