Auto Theft Prevention/2005 Chevy Cobalt Security Light

Question
The security light begins to flash about a minute after the car is in park and the key removed from the ignition. I assume that this is normal. However, is the security light supposed to continue flashing when the key is out of the ignition and the door locked? It does go off when the car is started.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am not knowledgeable about cars.

Thanks

Answer
Forgiven, but Harry, that's not a good sequence to see. :>(

Please go to your local Chevy dealer and have them "read"
the codes. It sounds as if it may have a fault code popping up,
triggering the PASSLOCK/Security light. Bad.

Don't wait until this affects the fuel injectors!

Make an appointment for an evaluation.

Good luck.
