QUESTION: I have a 2006 Ford Mustang GT with the factory alarm on it, recently i added a Compustar remote starter-alarm to the car. Now when I disarm the compustar and open the door right away everything is fine, but if i disarm the compustar and don't open the door within around 20 seconds, when i do open the door the factory alarm goes off(horn starts to honk).  I then have to use the factory remote to disarm the factory alarm or rearm and disarm using the compustar remote. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ANSWER: The compustar has a factory disarm output for this eventuality.
Please go back into the install, locate both the one on
the Compustar, and apply it to the factory alarm disarm wire
in the Mustang. This should solve your issue if done correctly.

QUESTION: I spoke to the installer and he said he did connect the compustar disarm to the factory disarm. The installer said that is why when I open the door as soon as I disarm the factory alarm does not go off. For some reason when I delay opening the door the factory alarm goes off.

Ok, I'd try the "horses mouth" next, and contact
support at Compustar for clarity.

Can also try my installers forum at
www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com and see if someone might
be able to assist. But something is "spiking" the alarm
to trigger, and Comput tech should be able to guide you
as to what it may be, and it's fix.
