Auto Theft Prevention/viper remote starter problem

Question
I have a 2002 dodge neon with a 130xv viper remote starter. When the outdoor temp gets below 10 degrees,
the remote start starts the car then abruptly kills
the engine and flashes the security light on the dash board. Is the installed coded key not doing its job?
Why is it only misbehaving at very low temps. It works just
fine at 12 degrees or warmer.
