QUESTION: Hey, I replaced the heater core in my 91 honda civic. I needed to pull the dash off to get to the housing unit. When I put everything back together the immobilizer did not detect my fob. I tried another set of keys with my other fob and no luck. Could I have pulled something? What can I do?

ANSWER: There is no immobilizer in the US version of this vehicle.
So that being said, it might have a starter kill relay
located on the starter wire. (www.relayhelp.com see
starter kill) used by an after market alarm
or device.

The starter wire on this vehicle should be black/white.
Locate anything foreign, cut off and repair the starter
wire to pre install condition. That should do it.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick response. But the reason why i am questioning about the immobilizer is because in canada it is mandatory to have an immobilizer installed when insured. This is only for the most at risk vehicles(honda civic included in this list). That being said, what could I have done and what can I do to fix it. I don't have an alarm and its not a starter problem. Thanks

Same thing I said in the last letter.
That's all you can do at this point.
If you have a bad relay inline on the starter
wire, remove and repair. No magic fix there really.
Cut out the bad and then either replace with a new
starter kill/alarm system to comply with the law,
or leave it alone. It's an old car.
