Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 4/23/2009

We bought a used Camry a couple of years ago. My husband had to disconnect the battery so we could fix the wiring for the stereo system.  After he did this the car would start so the dealer told us to just keep turning the key and it would reset the anti-theft system and start.  That has worked for the past 6 months.  Until today.  I left work the car was fine I parked and went into a store.  When I came out I tried to start the car and as long as the key was in the ignition the alarm started going off if I took the key out of the ignition the alarm would start. Now anything you touch on the dashboard...closing the glove box, moving the steering wheel, there is a little toggle switch on the drivers side by your left foot if you touch it - the alarm goes off.  How do we deactivate this.  The car will turn over but it will NOT start.  HELP!!!!

Hmmm, normally it's KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH IN OPOSITE DIRECTION,
KEY OFF=RESET.

If this is not happening, it's time to remove it,
repair the wiring it was attached too, including the
extraction of the starter kill relay & siren.

If this is the option you want to do,
I suggest you get the wiring chart for the car, and work
backwards to achieve your goal of repairing the car so it
starts everytime without bother.
