Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 4/22/2009

I have a 99 Camry and the alarm is going off at night for no reason.  The 1st 2 nights I had not even locked the car or engaged the alarm and around midnight the horn starts honking and it locked the doors and set the alarm itself. Next morning I unlocked car w/remote key. Same thing happened next night.  Last night after exiting I did lock the doors and it engaged the alarm.  In the middle of the night it went off again. I'm told it is an after market installed alarm system. For a temporary fixed, I've put in in valet mode but that doesn't allow the doors to open with the remote key. What is making the alarm go off when the alarm wasn't engaged in first place? I'd like to permanently remove the alarm system if it's going to be a problem. Do you know what's causing this and what the fix is? Does it hurt to leave the valet on (will the constant red button drain my battery) all the time?
