Auto Theft Prevention/Ok to cut wire to loudspeaker?

Question
Hi, my alarm in my 1995 accord (karr) is malfunctioning occasionally. It will chirp for no reason and even go off completely every once in a while. I like the keyless entry and I'd like to keep the appearance of having a working alarm so I considered just cutting the wire to the loudspeaker. Would this be ok to do? Is there an easier way to keep the keyless entry and flashing red light (appearance of alarm being armed)? I've googled but not had any luck. Any help appreciated.
