Auto Theft Prevention/98 chevy malibu anti theft system malfunction

Question
Recently purchased a 98 malibu from an auction.  In the
process of trying to figure out what may be wrong with the
engine (smoke), my daughter ran it out of gas.  The car had
been sitting since November due to my husband's decline in
health.  Now that he can work on it again, we recharged the
battery, put gas in it and now won't start.  We found that
there was an anti theft system blinking on and off and
cannot reset it.  How can I reset the system, and bypass it
entirely?  I do not need the kids to get stranded for
something stupid, as there is a two year old child with them
at all times.

Answer
Common issue.

You want to look specifically at the
IB-PLJX bypass kit to eliminate
the PASSLOCK II system.

This is the solution for perm. bypasing.

This way, the issue will not arise again.
Safe. ;>)
