Question
I have a 95 Chevy Monte Carlo, my car will not start and my security light stays on.  I called an auto repair shop and they said I have to take it to a chevy dealer, they are going to charge me $65 just to hook it up to the computer.  Do you have any idea approx. how much it will cost to fix this problem?

Sorry Sheila, but that's how they make they're money these
days. Repairing the old crap that's still on the road.
They will NOT bypass it for you.
They will try to "fix" it back to original
working condition. This does not correct it.

& yes, that is the classic complaint here. :>(

I wish there was an easy way to magically get it to

short of paying GM a bunch of cash to reset
a system that will likely need it again, and again.
That's if you can locate a GM service dept.
in the next couple of years! :>(

I'd bypass it and go from there with an after market
alarm to pick up the slack. Then no GM passlock issues to
worry about down the line.

Any good technician can install this item in less then an hour.
