Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 9/19/2009

Hi. We have a Toyota Previa TSpirit 56 plate (7 seater), and without rhyme or reason the alarm keeps going off. This can happen when the windows are shut, and I can't see any pattern with regard to the weather / temperature.

It will do so on and off for a few hours, and then not again for days. To stop it you have to unlock and re-lock it (using the electronic locking), although on one occasion to try to prevent it from going off again I left it unlocked. Unfortunately even that didn't stop it!

Could you advise as to what you think might be the problem, and if it is something a dealer would need to sort out or could a local mechanic fix it?

I was also wondering - is there a temporary fix (such as disconecting the main battery or perhaps even just manually locking it which I haven't tried yet) as we are due to go away soon and I don't want it to drive the neighbours mad whilst we are away if we don't have time to get it sorted properly.
