Question
I had taking my astro van to local mech.  to have the fuel
pump replaced. Later that night the fuse box started smoking>
I took it back to the mech. and he said the wiring harness had
burned up(several wires}  Could this have happen because of
wiring of the fuel pump??....Need your help

Answer
Yes. And he should fix and replace that harness
and any damage he caused.

I'd sue this guy into the stone age man.
WHATEVER it was that he did caused the fire.

Unless you were under there yourself messing around,
it's on him. Wiring harnesses do NOT spontaniously
combust!

Take it to a car alarm technician to ID the
problem, then take that paperwork to your "mechanic".

If he argues, next stop would be the BBB and
then small claims court if it's me.

Good luck.
