Question
I recently purchased a car that has an aftermarket theft system.  I would like to know what kind it is and if I can have it removed.  All I can tell you is that there is a little plastic 'stick' about 1 1/2 in long that must have some kind of chip in it.  To start the car the 'stick' must be held up to the ignition while turning the key.  It is a PAIN!  Plus, there is only the one stick- if it's lost...   :/   Thanks for any insight you might have on this system.

Answer
Ok, this passive type of starter kill system
does just that. Kills the starter
until the "wand" is passed before it's reader.
Nothing else, and it's almost always annoying.

Best bet here since it's very dificult to
replace the "key" sticks in the future, is to remove it
and repair the starter wire.

Then no more starter kill system.

If it's me at that point, I would get an
alarm system that protects the car and has
2 fresh new remotes to control the keyless
entry too. Maybe auto start as well?

But that's just me. :>)

Good luck with it.
