I have a 2003 GMC sierra sle 1500 and the truck won't start

Sounds like a breached PASSLOCK 2
system. Ok, if you've tried the learn routine
(KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING, LEAVE IT IN THE IGN
FOR 10 MINS, AND DO THIS 3 TIMES IN A ROW, THIS
COULD RE LEARN THE PASSLOCK 2 RESISTOR CODE.)
and no joy there, then yes,

I understand your issue all too well.
That is the Classic complaint here. :>(

Your Vehicle Has The GM's PASSLOCK 2
fuel rail Immobilizer system.
& You are correct if you thought the
IB-IM-PLJX Bypass kit is going to be
needed to get around this safely.

Not hard to install with a basic skill set of knowledge.
Need a soldering iron, wire strippers, multi meter
and tape. I supply all the project notes by email

It matches the resistance level in the key switch
and allows for the fuel rail to engage with any key

I wish there was an easy way to magically get it to
work without it, but this is what we have available
short of paying GM a bunch of cash to reset
a system that will likely need it again, and again.
That's if you can locate a GM service dept.
in the next couple of years! :>(

If it's up to me, I'd bypass it and go from there with
an after market alarm to pick up the slack.

Then no GM PASSLOCK II issues to
worry about down the line.

However, if you feel it's over your head, no harm no foul.
Take it to a pro who does car alarms/keyless & remote starters.
