Question
where is the pats module located on a 2001 ford taurus could this be the problem car will not crank from inside i use a jump wire to starter and it cranks we haved checked ignition switch, relays, and transmission sensor I was told that could be the problem

Answer
Your issue is likely to be at the ignition sensor.
Worn out by the sounds of it.

Since VATS is in components, ALL have to be
working correctly. This sounds as if
you need the 2 coded keys and a bypass kit
to restore it. But if the codes are gone from
PCM due to prolonged power down, FORD is going
to have to reset it with they're scan tool system.
