Auto Theft Prevention/remote starter is acting weird

Question
I have a remote starter on my 2006 Saturn. The starter is the Ungo RK1 by Clarion. Recently the starter began requiring two attempts to actually start the car. Now when I push the button, it will start, run for five seconds or so then shut off. This repeats for a total of three attempts. So now the starter is actually not functioning. What could be causing this problem?

Answer
The PASSLOCK bypass kit and the tachometer setting
should be inspected here for trouble as either can
cause this kind of issue.

First though is the PASSLOCK bypass kit used.
Have the installer get the right one for
this project and REDO-reprogram it correctly.

Then make sure the tach wire is connected and
that the remote starter is set up to read the tach.

Try those ideas and get back to me.
