Question
QUESTION: Hello can you help me.Currently working on an 08 Ford mustang GT Premium with factory key less entry, and factory alarm "Flashing light in dash".I am trying to use an aftermarket alarm and need to disable the factory alarm or remove it completely as it is causing me headaches due to its features. Everything on this vehicle seems to be using a constant negative for pin switches hood, trunk, etc when CLOSED.This conflicts greatly with my aftermarket alarm. Can you help me out with the proper procedure? I have a wiring diagram, but it seems that I would be better off removing the whole thing and going old-school with this project.Thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Don't rip it out just yet!
Correct the anomaly with one wire re directed,
and one removed.

There are normally 2 wires from an after market,
that is for triggering. In Most Fords (yours included)
the door triggers are positive type.
On the after market alarm, use only the (+) door trigger
wire, usually violet or purple colored, and got
to the YELLOW/LIGHT GREEN (+) @ Smart Junction Box,
GRAY 26 Pin Plug, Pin 25. The SJB (Smart Junction Box)
is located in the PASSENGER KICK PANEL.

Then leave off the (-) trigger wire all together.
This should correct the situation.

Let me know what you discover.

QUESTION: Thanks for the quick reply.Still stumped.Have the Yellow/Light Green located but positive when all doors are closed and dome is off.Dome takes time to shut off.Once it does the yellow/GRN turns positive.Tried your way but the pager remote tells me something is open.If I wait til the dome light shuts off it works fine with the negative trigger. Not with the positive because while the door is open and dome is on it reads 0.08 volts. That is with the ground lead from tester on ground and red lead on yellow/grn.I am missing something I know, maybe a relay?Anything would do at this point.

Answer
There should be a 1 min override setting in the feature
settings for your alarm system. This would be to used in
this case to allow for the dome light power to go off.
(Dome light delay etc...) a 1 minute delay until
it arms that wire.

Look into this setting in your install manual.
