Auto Theft Prevention/No start due to aftermarket security

Question
A co-worker recently purchased a '97 Honda Passport with an after-market security system (siren, blue light on dash, etc),and (unfortunately), no paperwork on the security system.  He locked the keys in the car, but was able to unlock the door by reaching through a partially-opened window. However, now when he went to start the vehicle, the alarm goes off and the car will not start.  We tried locking/unlocking the doors, but to no avail.  I suspect we'll have to disconnect the alarm system, but am unsure how to go about doing that.  Any thoughts/suggestions?
