Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 8/15/2010

Question
i have a 99 c1500 2wd ext. cab p/u with a very annoying problem. problem being that the truck will run great for weeks or months at a time without a hitch,but then out of the blue,even after just driving it minutes before,or running around all day,it will not start.it cranks just fine,but the anti-theft light in the dash starts flashing and no start.what really ticks me off is that i am a A.S.E. certified master tech with 20 yrs. experience and cannot find the problem.i have found a T.S.B. on ALLDATA for this issue,but unfortunately,do not have access to a tech II.could it be a bad connection at the ignition switch plug cavity as the bulletin suggests,or could it be the module freaking out?the truck only barely has 100k on it,and is in great shape and no aftermarket electrical junk hooked up to it.any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome.i would also like to know what you think about those by-pass kits i have heard about,because if that will solve the problem and save me from spending hundreds of dollars at a dealer,or on dealer items only parts,i am all for that.thank you.

Not uncommon. Sounds like everyone elses issue.
