Question
We bought a used 2001 Malibu ls sedan, it had previously came with an alarm originally, but it wasn't working. We had an aftermarket alarm and keyless entry installed and had no problems for 3 years. My husband came home one night turned it off, set the alarm. The next morning the car wouldn't start. A friend put a computer on it and it said that the alarm is somehow tripping the ignition as if it were stolen and wont let it start. It tries to start and ALMOST DOES, BUT IT WONT. The pressure gauges show it is getting plenty of fuel. Do you know a solution to get this thing where it will start? Please help. Thanks in advance. Sue

It's likely NOT to be the after market system giving
you trouble here.

It's extremely likely to be a faulty PASSLOCK 2
system doing this to you. Over time, the sensor inside the
ignition tumbler will ware out and do exactly this.
