Question
I'm having the same problems as some other people are related to auto theft alarm system/stealth.  I have a 2006 Trailblazer and the next day after I had bought it, it wont crank because I wasn't told of the alarm system and I couldn't find anywhere in the the manual book on how to fix it.. I played with the stealth remote and it finally cranked.  I have 2 alarms which i don't understand, one is for the factory passlock remote and the other one is a stealth remote. Passlock, I get but I have to click the stealth remote then turn in the key ignition to get the suv running.  Now i cant even get the car started no matter how many times I've tried unlocking the engine with the stealth remote. Any idea of what I can or should do????

Answer
Hello,

You are not going to be happy with my answer on the steath. It's dealer installed junk that if you keep it in the vehicle you will be stranded on many future occasions. Unfortunately you got stuck with this. Never known anyone happy with this system. Since it is after market and installed third party for dealers, you won't have a dealer tech work on it either.
I recommend going to local alarm store pay $50 and have it removed. Don't buy anything else for it ether. Get the vehicle back to stock. If you need it running and you don't want to tow it, instructions further on.

Do you have anyone mechanically inclined with simple hand tools that can do a minor wiring repair? If so, I can tell you how to disable that junk until you can get it ripped out of the car? I can tell them how to get the engine running.
To demonstrates my point on the poor install, you shouldn't have to have two different remote transmitters. A professional install would just use one remote for the door locks and to disable alarm. Not two!
If you have someone that can do a minor electrical job, I can guide them through disabling it temporarily.
The factory remote is most likely a keyless entry. No alarm. It can lock and unlock the doors and there is a panic button that will sound the horn and flash the lights. Do no misunderstand what this remote transmitter does. It is not PASSLOCK and it id not part of an alarm.

The transmitter is not part of the GM PASSLOCK. Two separated entities!

Now, I don't have my books in front of me. This SUV either has PASSLOCK or the transponder PK III. It was a production change for 2006 or 2007. Don't remember right off hand.

PASSLOCK does not have a chip in the key, PK III also known as PASSLOCK III has a computer chip in the key. Both have nothing to do with an alarm and are only ignition based.

PASSLOCK, you can get a key made at a hardware store. Made only to prevent someone ripping ignition lock out that will disable engine from starting. The magnetic field is broken then. Designed for the vehicle's computer to see the rotation of the lock.

PK III usually has PK III stamped on the key or a (+) stamped on the blade. This system in theory is for the computer to read the programmed electronic key.

Now you know more than you needed to know.

As for your stealth I can talk someone through disabling the starter interrupt feature and then you can get it running. The starter wire from the factory is cut in two. One side of the wire goes to the Stealth "brain." The other side of the factory ignition start wire goes to another wire on the Stealth. You remove both these wires and put both cut ends of the factory start wire together. Stealth starter interrupt is disabled. Then disconnect the brain under the dash and throw it away! Cut the red power wire leading to it and cap it. Shouldn't take but 15 minutes!
I don't know where they tied into the factory start wire though. Could be under driver's dash or in steering column. All you need to do is follow the wires to the main ignition harness.

After you do all this, leave all this alarm stuff alone. If they want your SUV, they are going to take it. Make sure it is insured for fire and theft and be done with it.

The best installed place for a Stealth alarm--in the garbage can!

If you need me to talk someone through this, call me 866-490-1673 in US or 972-310-4750.

Don't play with it any more!
