Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 3/3/2011

Question
At approximately 3:30am this morning I had a rude awakening to the sound of the alarm system going off.  This is the original system, therefore the lights were flashing and car horn beeping.  I was able to stop the madness by using the key-less remote entry.  However, upon locking it again and within less than 5 minutes - the security alarm system went off again.  Ultimately, I have had to leave the car unlocked so that the security system is not engaged.  My car was still there this morning, thus assuming it was not car theft.  What would cause this to happen?

Ok ma'am,
   This system depends on a viable, fully charged battery
and will trigger only if it "sees" a spike in the power.
Either from a door/dome light coming on, or a low
battery, and it is reporting that trouble by triggering.

To make it right, first check any open circuits
in the car like dome lights on, interior lights,
or trunk lights coming on after the door is locked.
Secondly, if you can not find this open circuit,
go ahead and get a fresh battery anyway. Then if it still
triggers, you would need to have Dodge/Chrysler
evaluate it. But my bet is a low or bad battery
is causing this trouble.
