Auto Theft Prevention/Car problem with start up

Question
My 2001 ford focus is not wanting to start up when you turn the key but all the lights will come on and so will the stereo system, it will run when it wants to and then when you stop somewhere and you try to leave it will not always start back up.

Answer
It sounds like a fault in the ignition / PATS
transponder system. Visit the local Ford dealer service
department to have them read the BCM-PATS codes, and explain
if they can, what exactly is happening before you
get stranded somewhere.

Best idea really since I can't be there to inspect it myself.

Good luck.
