i bought this 1997 chevy carvier and i havent drove it since i bought it and went to start it and the theft system lights is on and the car will not start what should i do.. i dont have the number were i got the car anymore..problem

Answer
Start with a fresh battery.
Then try this:

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine,
then release the key to ON.

The vehicle will not start.
Observe the SECURITY light in dash,
after approximately 10 minutes
the tell tale light will turn OFF.

Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.

Repeat steps, (KEY ON FOR 10 MINS off for 5 seconds)
two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes.

The vehicle is now ready to relearn the PASSLOCK Sensor
Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition
switch transition from OFF to CRANK.

IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the PASSLOCK
Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition
switch transition from OFF to CRANK.

You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting
to start the vehicle.

Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned
the PASSLOCK Sensor Data Code and/or password.

If no joy, a passlock 1 bypass with relays and resistors
is needed to bypass it temporarily, and a PLJX
kit to keep it safely inert.
