Question
my good friend lost his keys to his diesel truck and only has the key without the immobilizer chip. can i bypass the system wihtout buying any bypass kits. I have experiense in remote start and alarms but have been out of the business for 8 years now but still should be able to handle it. thanks carl

Answer
Doubtful. If you try to simply hot glue the key
to the ignition SKIM reader, that would take the
immobilizer offline, but the trouble is if you
are wrong about the "sweet spot" to place it in,
and then try to use a non transponder, store cut key to start
the vehicle after that, you will have a 50/50 shot
at triggering the transponder and then you have
bigger fish to fry. :>(

And to the other point, to put in a bypass module,
you would need the correct one and then you'd
still need 2 programmed ignition keys to program it
for a system bypass.

Not that easy I'm afraid. Best way I know of is to
get the spare transponder key made and programmed,
THEN bypass it with the correct kit.

Safer and doable.
