Question
QUESTION: I have a 96 Ford Explorer and in the past (2) weeks my car has just been constantly unlocking itself.  It's a factory alarm and I have new batteries in the remote.  Any clues?

ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: It's a factory alarm and the doors only unlock, all of them.  No other things such as lights, horn or anything.  All the doors unlock at the same time, usually when I hit the unlock on my keychain, the driver's door unlocks and if I hit unlock again the rest unlock.  So it's not even acting as if it's being unlocked by the key chain (remote keypad with lock, unlock and panic).

The I suggest you get it to the local Ford dealership
ASAP and have them check the secureloc system.
There may be an intermitency in the signal coming from the key chain remote. If always sending the signal. the locks may act like this. Have Ford look at this issue as soon as you can. In the mean time, take out the batteries in the remote to see if that solves this, and would prove to be the right answer.
