Auto Theft Prevention/Accord99-Immobilizer cause problem at times

Question
Sometimes my accord fails to start though everything else works fine. Seems like immobilizer is not recognizing the key. However if i stop trying to start the car for 10 mins and try again, it starts. I am not able to understand if the problem is with the immobilizer or the key, or something else.

Answer
There should be no difficulty as long as the chip in the
key is read by the immobilizor bypass reader at
the ignition switch collar. The two devices must
sync to start the engine. If one or the other
has been damaged, or the collar ring around
the ignition has moved somehow, then I could see
a fix in mind. But to have an intermittency
like you are experience is troubling, as it will only
get worse unless inspected. I say take it
to a Honda tech for evaluation. Can't loose that way.
You will get the straight story from them on this.

But do what you think is best. That's my take on it.

Let me know what you figure out.
